Cold War Movies

After World War II, and the creation of the atomic bomb by the United States, and subsequently by the Soviet Union, the Cold War had begun. The ensuing arms race and military buildup on both sides nearly resulted in the destruction of the planet by nuclear holocaust. Fortunately, saner minds prevailed, and the world remains intact today.

During that time, the business of the military was "war through peace," and the war movies that resulted from this period in history present a tale of paranoia and detente, a delicate balance between fighting and not fighting.

Although most would suggest the Cold War ended with the fall of the Soviet Union, some suggest it still rages on in secret today.

Here are the Cold War Movies reviewed so far. Watch these with the historical context in mind. They range from the patriotic and proud, to outright paranoid, to satirical and funny.
