Korean War Movies

In 1950, North Korea's communist military moved to "reunite" the Korean peninsula. It turned into a vehicle for a battle between the United States, backing South Korea, and the Soviet Union and China, with their communist elements backing the North.

The short war was ended when diplomatic talks prevailed, ending in the signing of a peace agreement in 1953.

Today the two nations are still separated by a demilitarized zone, and the US still maintains some presence there. Did it ever really end? Or is it just a facet of the Cold War that never went away?

The films dealing with Korea made during the 50's and 60's mimic their patriotic and triumphant counterparts, while later films and television such as MASH would satirize and politicize it.
