71: Into The Fire to Open in U.S.
Supposedly making big waves in Hawaii this summer, and in Korea, is the Korean War story, 71: Into the Fire. It’s about 71 college students who are told to hold the line against the advancing North Koreans.
From the trailer, It looks to have a lot of, um, John Woo-”action movie” styled moments and well choreographed explosions anyway. I’m also skeptical of the “K-pop” connection and that its just another pretty-boy vehicle, as these things sometimes can be.
Will reserve final judgement until I’ve actually seen it, which will be who-knows-when. You know how things work around here!!
71-Into the Fire will open in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Washington and Philadelphia on July 30 in theater chains such as AMC and MPARK4. Fourteen screens have been confirmed; however, this number may increase if the movie does well in the box offices.

IMDB: 71: Into the Fire
Here’s a trailer to take a gawk at. No I don’t know Korean, so you’ll have to look elsewhere for translations and subs….
