I know I will taking a beating for this, but I like the remake starring Richard Thomas. I think it holds up well compared to the original and Thomas does an admirable job. If it hadn't been for Radcliffe the movie would have been quite touching. After all it's a tragic story. Unfortunately he was soo unconvincing. He really isn't that good an actor.
